摘要
The present study evaluates the effects of texture/slip configuration on improvement in load capacity and reduction in coefficient of friction for partially textured slip slider and journal bearing. The nondimensional pressure and shear stress expressions are derived from one dimensional analysis of modified classical Reynolds equation. The texture/slip parameters used in the analysis are: nondimensional texture length; nondimensional depth of recess/groove; land with slip to recess region ratio; number of cells; and nondimensional slip coefficient. Partially textured slip parallel slider and concentric journal bearing has a potential to generate load carrying capacity and reduce coefficient of friction. (C) 2012 Elsevier Ltd.
