摘要
We show analytically that solitonic states of two modes associated with different gap edges are formed when incident waves are sent in layered dielectric systems with a small band gap. The resulting coupled gap solitons are described through a nonlinear Schrodinger equation and propagate with a speed equal to half the speed of light. We discuss the conditions for the existence of coupled gap solitons.
