摘要
We report on the synthesis and optical properties of Ni0.05Zn0.95O nanoparticles derived by a sol-gel type chemical precursor method. The derived samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), UV-visible and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. The XRD analysis gives evidence of Ni2+ ions efficiently replacing Zn2+ ions in the hexagonal wurtzite type crystal lattice. The room-temperature PL spectrum of Ni0.05Zn0.95O nanoparticles dispersed in the reaction solution exhibits an intense green emission band at 599 nm (2.06 eV) and a near UV band at 414 nm (3.45 eV). The observed PL peaks were related to the transitions involving oxygen-vacancy and other defect center induced emissions.
