摘要
Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) permits measurement of oxygen uptake (Vo(2)), an indicator of overall cardiopulmonary fitness and a useful measurement in the assessment of operative risk for lung cancer patients. The evidence supporting the use of CPET in pre-operative assessment of the lung cancer surgery patient is examined. CPET methodology and limitations, as well as alternatives to CPET for risk assessment are discussed.
