摘要：

A new high-quality and red skin western pumpkin hybrid 'Hongli No 2' was developed with two inbreds from the introduced pumpkin lines (HP-35 and JP-1) as female and male parent respectively. The results from cultivar comparison, multi-location trials and demonstration experiments showed that the hybrid set fruits easily, grew vigorously with strong resistance to various stresses especially the temperature extremes. The whole growth period of the hybrid is about 110 d with the fruit developmental duration at around 45 d. The average fruit weighed 2.7 kg, and the yield was approximately 45 t ha. The fruits are high-oblate shaped with red skin and orange flesh of 3.8 cm thick, the flesh is powder and sweet. The hybrid is now named 'Hongli No 2'.
