Synthesis, characterization and crystal structure of holmium complex with β-alanine

摘要
The complex {[HO2(beta-ala)(6)(H2O)(4)](ClO4)(6).H2O}(n) (beta-ala = beta-alanine) has been synthesized in an aqueous solution with the pH value of 3.5. Its crystal structure was determined by X-ray diffraction method. The crystal is of triclinic, space group P (1) over bar with a = 9.1 99(2), b = 12.870(2), c = 21.620(5) Angstrom, alpha 76.92(1), beta = 81.15(1), gamma = 82.91(1)degrees, V = 2453.2(8) Angstrom(3), Z = 2 and D-c = 2.097 g/cm(3). The structure of the complex can be viewed as a one-dimensional infinite chain. The holmium, ion. is nine-coordinated with a geometry of distorted mono capped square antiprism..
