Incorporating ergonomics into the concurrent engineering of a new warehouse

At Hewlett-Packard's Microwave Instruments Division (HP MID) we are aggressively working toward incorporating ergonomics into the new product and new process development cycle. The inclusion of an ergonomics engineer on a development project's concurrrnt engineering team is an essential part of meeting this goal. This paper presents the methodology used to integrate ergonomics into the concurrent engineering of a new 100,000 square foot warehouse and highlights the key issues encountered.
