Elevated-temperature Al-Ti-Fe-X (X = V, Cr, Mo and Zr) rapid solidification (RS) powder metallurgy (P/M) alloys were successfully synthesized. The resulting alloys were characterized using X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Tensile tests were also conducted at a strain rate of 5 × 10-4 s-1. The thermal stability was estimated by measuring the ambient-temperature hardness after the isothermal annealing at temperatures ranging from 573 K to 673 K by a Vickers hardness tester. The data obtained suggest that the synthesized alloys are promising candidate aluminum alloy for elevated-temperature applications.
