摘要
The objective of the study was to investigate the Executive Functions (EF) in patients with Alzheimer's Disease (AD) according to the degree of severity. 50 patients with AD and 60 Subjects Without Cognitive Impairment (SWCI) were studied in a non-experimental-cross-sectional study with a non-probabilistic sampling. The results showed that: the execution of the digit test that assesses working memory does not differentiate between patients with mild AD and SWCI; inhibitory control, evaluated by the Stroop test, allows differentiating patients with AD in moderate and severe phase; and in cognitive flexibility, measured through different variables, there are inconsistent differences. Patients with AD are more affected in tasks that assess working memory, inhibitory control and cognitive flexibility, regardless of the degree of severity and age, compared with SWCI.
