摘要
With the development of modernization and urbanization, Chinese local governments have built industrial enterprises to stimulate economic growth or expand public facilities, such as garbage disposal plants, to satisfy the increasing population requirements to varying degrees. Although these facilities help to promote economic development and improve living standards, they, as NIMBY facilities, are resisted by the residents living nearby because of the risks they may bring. From the perspective of risk perception, this paper discusses the motivations of individualists, fatalists, Hierarchists and egalitarians in NIMBY conflicts. Besides, the paper develops strategies for interest compensation, media guidance, conflict resolution, decision-making participation and trust rebuilding, providing references for the government to effectively avoid NIMBY conflict.
