摘要
Atomic force microscopy is used in this work as a primary tool for investigating chitosan-based films morphology. Chitosan films casted from chitosan solutions in acetic acid of various concentrations, as well as gold- and silver-containing chitosan films, are studied. Chitosan films are revealed to be composed of globular-like structures with 20-80 nm lateral sizes. At a higher chitosan concentration, a tendency is observed for these globular-like structures to be organized in fibril-like "strands." The presence of metal does not seem to affect the general structure of chitosan-based films.
