摘要：
In a synthesis of constructs drawn from the literatures of transaction cost economics and agency theory, this paper examines the push toward virtual organizations by considering the difficulties inherent in allowing manufacturing cells of different organizations to transact autonomously. Five propositions regarding information technology's role in facilitating such transactions emerge from the synthesis.
