SYNTHESIS AND BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY OF 1,3-BENZOTHIAZOLYL OXADIAZOLE DERIVATIVES

摘要
A new series of 2-[(4'-acetyl-5'-aryl)-1',3',4'-oxadiazole]-1,3-benzothiazole (6a(1)-6a(6)) were synthesized from arylmethylidenp-1,3-benzothiazole-2-carbohydrazides (5a(1)-5a(6)) in good yields. The structures of the newly synthesized compounds have been confirmed by IR, H-1 NMR and Mass spectral analysis. All the synthesized compounds were screened for their antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity. Among the synthesized compounds 6a(2) and 6a(4) exhibited a broad spectrum antibacterial activity. Compounds (6a(1)-6a(6)) exhibited highly significant anti-inflammatory activity at 3rd and 4th hr whereas the tested compounds exhibited highly significant analgesic activity at 90 and 120 minutes.
