Practice guidelines in social work: A reply, or "our glass is half full"

To facilitate the development of truly useful practice guidelines, the authors suggest the development of a social work practice network for research, involving a nationwide pool of clinical social workers coordinated by a central committee of researchers and practitioners. This network would generate naturalistic social work research much mon relevant to practice than isolated controlled studies. Steps toward developing such a practice network are described.
