摘要
The raw material base in FR Yugoslavia, especially in Serbia, is characterised by the domination of decidous tree species and the supply of coniferous wood for fibre production is limited The deficiency of coniferous wood for fibre production is mainly compensated by poplar and willow wood. The properties (structural, physical, mechanical properties and chemical composition) of poplar and willow wood were researched at the Poplar Research Institute in Novi Sad to assess the parameters in the production of sulphate pulp, The experimental material was poplar wood Populus deltoides (cl. 725) and willow wood Salix alba (cl. 107/65/7). The yield, chemical properties and physical-mechanical characteristics of fibres intended for papermaking purposes were determined.
