Stopping characteristics of slow antiparticles

摘要
The quantities characterizing stopping including the dynamic width of the particle states, the stopping power and the energy-loss straggling of slow antiparticles (with negative nuclear charges) passing an electron gas are evaluated within a scattering theory approach. The required effective scattering potential is obtained from a self-consistent density-functional calculation. The stopping characteristics of antiparticles as a function of charge \Z(1)\ are quite different from those of normal particles.
