Galloping of overhead transmission lines with bundled multiple-conductors

摘要
The fundamental characteristics of galloping in overhead transmission lines with bundled multiple-conductors are investigated analytically. It is found that horizontal galloping is possible for six-bundled conductor at the wind velocity higher than 20 m/sec, while vertical galloping occurs in transmission line with four-bundled conductor around 10 m/sec. The capability of analytical approach to the galloping problem is also discussed by comparing the results of numerical analysis with the field measured data of galloping.
