Strategic Information Systems Planning at Bali State Polytechnic Using Ward and Peppard Framework

This paper studied Strategic Information System Planning at Bali State Polytechnic (BSP). BSP is a college in Indonesia that its business management depend on government policy. BSP is consisting of seventeen (17) sub-units of work. Some of them have already had an information system, but it was not integrated and separately implemented. The goal of this research was to build Bali State Polytechnic strategic information systems planning, and the results will be used as a basis in determining information systems strategy that aligned with Bali State Polytechnic's business strategy. The strategic information systems planning drawn up for the time frame of three years. This research used the SISP methodology created by Ward and Peppard. The process begins with an analysis of the business environment, IS/IT external and internal environmental analysis using PEST analysis tools, CSF analysis, Porter's analysis Forces, SWOT analysis and using the application portfolio of McFarlan's Strategic Grid. The final result of the research is an information system strategic planning document that includes the number of information system, the type of technology, technical standards for the type of information system and its policies, priorities and time frame for the information systems implementation design.
