摘要
Some main challenges relating to geotechnical design aspects of infrastucture developments are briefly reviewed. This is illustrated by various recent examples from railway and road projects in Norway including the 50 km railway to the new Oslo Airport at Gardermoen and a planned six lane cross-harbour road tunnel in Oslo. Geotechnical aspects covered include the role of CPTU tests to determine design parameters, use of ground improvement to improve stability and reduce settlements, vibration aspects related to railways and consequence of ground water leakage into tunnels.
