Multiferroic Bi0.4La0.6Fe0.8Mn0.2O3 ceramic powder was prepared by conventional solid-state reaction method. The powder was then annealed at different temperatures. From XRD patterns it was observed that they crystallize in the orthorhombic structure. The dielectric anomalies of the sample were observed at 160 degrees C and 190 degrees C. The leakage studies and Magnetic field dependent magnetization (M-H) curve at room temperature demonstrated the weak ferromagnetic behavior. Presence of magneto-electric (ME) coupling ascertains the candidature of this material for device application.
