Ag@AgCl photocatalyst was successfully synthesized through a one-pot method. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, transmission electronmicroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and UV-Vis. diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, were used to characterize the as-synthesized nanocomposites. The photocatalytic properties of the obtained products were investigated by evaluating on photo-degradation of a model pollutant methyl orange, indicating that the pure cube-like Ag@AgCl crystals exhibit enhanced visible light photocatalytic performance. From comparative test runs, the cube-like exhibited better photocatalytic activity than sample AgCl and commercial Ag@AgCl particles.
