摘要
With examples of Swedish small-scale commercial businesses in New York City, and through the analytical concept of space, this article discusses how such businesses manifest the Swedish or the Scandinavian and how this manifestation differs from how Swedish nationality has been expressed through earlier Swedish immigration to America. This is discussed in relation to the concept of cultural heritage. The impact these businesses have on the city in the form of gentrification is also discussed.
