摘要
Several new azo-substituted amidoalkyl naphthol derivatives were synthesized by coupling of octahydro-1H-xanthen and phenol nucleus with diazotized 4-amino benzamide and conversion of the coupling product to amidoalkyl naphthols. This is the first report on the synthesis of amidoalkyl naphthol compounds using benzamide with large azo substituents. Furthermore, antimicrobial activities of all new compounds were studied by in vitro experiment. Some synthesized compounds exhibited potential antimicrobial activities which may guarantee their future application in moderate chemotherapy.
