Recent developments in European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) - Celebrating 10th anniversary

The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) celebrated its tenth anniversary in 1998. As of November 1998, it counted 650 member organizations from 49 countries (including 35 European countries), and it is actively engaged in the creation of global standards for the 21st century. This article describes the status of ETSI activities from 1997 as well as new developments (Refer to "Global Standardization Activities" in the January 1998 issue).
