Among its responsibilities, the hospitalist movement in internal medicine must fulfill the educational needs of medical students and residents. Rigorous studies can discern what special objectives, curriculum, and funding will be effective for hospitalists to meet these obligations. (C) 2001 by Excerpta Medica, Inc.
