Electrostatic self-assembly of Zn3(PO4)2/GO composite with improved anticorrosive properties of water-borne epoxy coating

摘要
In the present study, the synthetic strategy of "electrostatic self-assembly" was utilized to prepare Zn-3(PO4)(2)/GO composite material with effective collaborative reinforcement of anti-corrosion, which may combine the anticorrosive advantages of the two materials for further improvement in the anti-corrosive properties of the composite materials. The morphology, structure, and composition of the prepared composites were studied using SEM, XRD and XPS, respectively. Furthermore, corrosion resistance of the pure epoxy coating, Zn-3(PO4)(2) (ZP)/epoxy, GO/epoxy, and Zn-3(PO4)(2)/GO/epoxy, was evaluated using electrochemical experiment and salt spray test. The results revealed that the Zn-3(PO4)(2)/GO/epoxy coating exhibited excellent anti-corrosion effect owing to the synergistic effect of GO and Zn-3(PO4)(2). When the amount of Zn-3(PO4)(2)/GO composite material was 0.5%, the corrosion current density was 1.66 x 10(-7) A/cm(2) , and the corrosion protection efficiency was 95% higher than that of the pure water-borne epoxy coating. The improvement in the anti-corrosion performance could be attributed to the prolonged invasion path of the corrosive medium. The use of electrostatic self-assembly to synthesize Zn-3(PO4)(2)/GO composite materials in the present study served to provide novel ideas for the preparation of other anti-corrosive materials.
