Formation and self-organization of the LPD bands within the range from meso- to macrolevel in polycrystals under tensile loading

摘要
In the paper, a mesomechanical model of development of localized plastic deformation in a plane polycrystal is described on the basis of the relaxation element method. The model operates in accordance with the algorithm of cellular automata. The model describes self-organization of band structures in polycrystals and accounts for the following physical factors: work hardening, the number of sliding systems in the crystal and the influence of free surfaces in the case of a polycrystal. The results show, that the physical principles, laid down in the model, allow one to predict experimentally observed regularities in the development of localized plastic deformation on mesolevel.
