Magnetocaloric effect in polycrystalline Gd1-xCaxBaCo2O5.5

摘要
Calculations of the magnetocaloric effect had been carried out. Dependence of the magnetization on temperature variation for Gd1 - xCaxBaCo2O5.5 upon 100 Oe magnetic fields was simulated. The behavior of the temperature-dependent magnetocaloric effect, in the vicinity of magnetic phase transitions, was investigated. The values of maximum magnetic entropy change, full-width at half-maximum, and relative cooling power at different concentrations of Ca. in 100 Oe magnetic field variation, were calculated. It was shown that an increase in Ca concentration leads to improve magnetocaloric effect polycrystalline Gd1 - xCaxBaCo2O5.5. A polycrystalline Gd1 - xCaxBaCo2O5.5 provides an efficient mean to realize solid-state cooling devices for a broad range of applications. (C) 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
