Distribution of shish-kebab structure of isotactic polypropylene (iPP) under shear flow was investigated in the presence of nucleating agent. It was observed that the shish-kebab structure of iPP appeared in the presence of sodium benzoate (SB). It was also observed that a true range of the flow field sufficient to induce the formation of the shish-kebab structure can be obtained by the addition of SB. The results show that shish crystallization of the isotactic polyproplene can beenhanced in the presence of SB in the shear flow.
