摘要
Oil spill is one of major environmental problem. The event often followed by deterioration of environmental quality, serious pollution problem and destruction of wildlife habitat in the surrounding of the coastal area. A reliable method to map and monitor the oil spill event become a crucial measure to determine the effective contingency plan. In this work, we examine the spreading and movement of the oil spill in Balikpapan Bay that was occurred on April 2018, using multi-sensor Sentinel data which are provided openly by the European Space Agency. Combination of data from Sentinel 1 and Sentinel 2 are used to classify the oil slick occurrence on the ocean's surface. Using both 1) Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technique for the data from Sentinel 1B and 2) modified moisture index for optical sensor data from Sentinel 2A-2B, we confirm consistent detection of the oil slick at the observed area.
