TCP Veno Connection Game Model on Non-Cooperative Game Theory

摘要
Conventional research on TCP stability focused on congestion control mechanisms. In this paper we applied noncooperative game theory to investigate the stability of the TCP Veno, with which users are permitted to open multiple TCP connection to maximize their payoff. Assuming the TCP connection number is the user strategy, and the user utility function comes from the user goodputs minus the cost of gaining the goodputs, we established the TCP Veno connection game model. Combing with the TCP Veno sending rate model, mathematical analysis whether there exists Nash equilibrium or not, the analysis result shows that the Nash equilibrium is relevant to the user's Round Trip time. Finally, we use NS2 simulations to simulate the scenario, of which result show the NE observed in NS2 is very close to the NE computed by mathematical analysis.
