摘要
Diffusion bonding process was adopted to bond the two dissimilar metals of aluminium coated AZ 80 magnesium alloy and AA 7075 aluminium alloy for different set of process parameters. The samples of AZ 80 magnesium alloy and AA 7075 aluminium alloy without interlayer were attempted with three trials of five different temperatures ranging from 325 degrees C to 450 degrees C were taken in the present investigation. The other parameters such as bonding pressure of 10 MPa and bonding time of 15 min were kept constant. The mechanical properties of the samples showed improved mechanical properties at optimum temperature and that the surface properties were probed using optical micrsocopy and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The bonding quality with the effect of temperature on diffusion bonded specimen was investigated in detail. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
