摘要
KDP (Potassium Dihydrogen Phosphate) crystal is widely used in inertia control fusion and other high-tech fields as a high quality non-linear optical material. Result of the surface quality correlating with the crystal optical properties, detecting surface defects on polished device is an essential part. In this paper, optical microscopy and image processing technology is used in the KDP crystal surface defects detection after MRF and cleaned. Firstly, optical microscopy is used to acquire image. Uneven illumination exists in the surface image, so the background extraction technology is presented to eliminate the impact of light on the defect extraction. After 2D maximum entropy threshold segmented, there are residues and scratches defects. In order to identify residues and scratches defects, the features are utilized which the irregularity of residual defect edge, the linearity of scratch defect edge and the residue defect attaching to the scratch defect shows the discontinuities and the curvature on straight edge. According to the features, canny operator is used to extract defects edge and improved straight recognition algorithms by Freeman chain code is used to detect completed information of residue and scratch defects. In the end, the scratch defects are counted with width and length and using area to get a statistical result of the residue defects. Experimental results show that the method can accurately detect KDP crystal surface defects in different states after polishing and cleaning.
