Resonance cell design for gas phase photoacoustic spectroscopy

摘要
Photoacoustic intracavity cell designs and characteristics, and the relative merits of resonant versus nonresonant cells are discussed. Signal enhancement with a novel cell design which halves the chopping frequency required to achieve longitudinal resonance has been examined. Results are presented that illustrate the dependence of the photoacoustic signal on cell pressure in the range of 50 to 700 Torr: In contrast to non-resonant cells, linear dependence of signal on pressure was observed with the resonant cell.
