Universities' Efficiency Appraising on the Scientific Research with DEA Method

In this paper, we have a detailed evaluation on the efficiency of universities' scientific research with DEA method. First, we introduce the principle and advantages of DEA in appraising the efficiency of units relating multi-inputs and multi-outputs. Then, according to three criterions of CATEGORIES, GRADES, and ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENTS, we divide all the universities of China into different groups and investigate their efficiency differences in social scientific research and natural scientific research, respectively. The result shows that different groups of universities have great efficiency divergences in most appraising indicators. With this conclusion, we put forward the improvement suggestions.
