摘要
This paper describes a method to produce the wide range mosaic data of the Ocean Color and Temperature Scanner (OCTS) onboard the Advanced Earth Observing Satellite (ADEOS) in continental scale, and its characteristics and possibility for land cover application. Using nine OCTS LAC data created a mosaic data covering the study area in Central Asia. The characteristics and possibility of its use for land cover investigation were considered with referring to similar NOAA AVHRR mosaic data. It was shown that OCTS mosaic data was available for more detailed land cover investigation due to the higher spatial resolution and the improved multi bands. It was also suggested to utilize future ADEOS-II GLI data for land cover investigation in continental scale. (C) 2002 COSPAR. Published by Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
