摘要
This article highlights selected technical issues from field sites involving ASD equipment and load interactions with recommended solutions to achieve desired system performance requirements. The application of LV and MV high-power ASDs results in second- and third-order effects, contributing to the performance failure of ASD. Models to describe electrical and mechanical interactions of system components, such as converters, control architecture, andmechanical loads, were presented with either field or laboratory data to verify the applicability of the models. Thus, the article serves as a resource tool and guide for industrial suppliers. While this article has brought attention and awareness to LV and MV ASD application performance issues, there have been hundreds of thousands of ASD applications with no performance issues when following the provided vendor installation guidelines. © 2012 IEEE.
