On Risks of Government Purchase of Public Services in China and the Countermeasures

Since the introduction of government purchase of public service at the end of 20th century, the suppliers of public services in China are diversified. Furthermore, this also facilitates the development of market and non-government organizations and promotes the transformation of government functions. Nevertheless, a few risks have been identified in the process, including lack of standardized purchase procedure and supervision. Thus, this paper explores, the actual risks and problems in government purchase of public services in China through theoretical and practical analysis. Then, it proposes some countermeasures to settle these problems.
