The structural transition of catanionic vesicles induced by toluene

摘要
The structural transition of catanionic vesicles induced by toluene was investigated. The solubilization of toluene into the catanionic vesicle bilayer led to the enlargement and deformation of vesicles and the formation of lamellar structures. Results showed that the penetration of toluene into the catanionic vesicle bilayer decrease the surface charge density of the catanionic vesicles, decrease the bending elastic modulus, and enhance the undulation motions of bilayer membrane.
