Translational energy change of desorbing product in steady-state carbon monoxide oxidation on palladium (110)

摘要
The angular and velocity distributions of desorbing product CO2 were studied in steady-state CO oxidation on Pd(110) by means of cross-correlation time-of-flight techniques. The CO2 desorption collimates sharply in the normal direction under the conditions studied. The translational temperature of CO2 is two to three times higher than the surface temperature. It increases slightly with increasing CO pressure in the active region where the reaction is of a first order with respect to CO. It suddenly jumps a significant amount at a critical CO pressure, above which CO retards the reaction, and the translational temperature remains constant. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V.
