Assessment by external peers for the accreditation of academic programs process allows to determine compliance with the minimum contents in the curriculum, as well as the requirements of infrastructure, equipment and academic faculty. Lack of prior preparation for the process for accreditation can cause a poor planning from those who are responsible for the program. E present I work, deals with items that may be relevant in the planning, management and monitoring of an assessment for the accreditation process of an engineering academic program. The strategy applied to the study of case, constitutes "a way" which faced an assessment process for accreditation, based on the idea that the generation of a strategy will strengthen the work to face process.
