摘要：
On the basis of discussion techniques to match query terms with document representations and describing various methods of translation in the Cross-Language Information Retrieval (CLIR) domain, an application of CLIR in specialized domain database is provided, then views of some future research directions are presented, which aim at the development of fully functional, user friendly multilingual and multimodal retrieval systems.
