摘要
This article presents qualitative data from a mixed-methods study assessing the impact that therapeutic theatre (TT) had on resilience among adolescents at-risk of high school dropout. Weekly after-school drama therapy groups developed a performance as part of ENACT's annual live production Show UP!. Findings showed that participation in an action-oriented process in school settings can promote positive change among youth, increase interpersonal connections and provide greater self-awareness and social awareness. Implications of these findings support TT as beneficial in stabilizing indicators of dropout, growing protective factors and sustaining resilience in adolescents. Future directions for research and practice are discussed.
