摘要
New web-based assignment and assessment platform is used in this study to assess students learning and course outcomes for face to face, hybrid and online courses. The objectives of using this online assignment and assessment tool is to (1) help students to learn faster and study more efficiently, (2) help students to retain more knowledge and important concepts they will need for success in the class and in the future and (3) help the instructor to assess student learning outcomes and improve activities of single and multiple sections of the course. A comparative method - side by side assessment of different sections of the same course is used in this study. Individual student performance, the overall class performance (face to face class or online class), and the overall students performance in multiple sections are obtained in this study. The use of online assessment platform showed an improvement of student motivation and engagement in the homework process. The use of automatic grading and instantaneous feedback helped the instructor to assess student performance and make the necessary changes before the tests or exams. The scores for the course assignments assessment average show a significant improvement in tests scores for both face to face and distance learning students.
