摘要：

This study examines the relative importance public and private sector high-ranking executives place on different information systems technologies (i.e., computer hardware and software, storage technology, and communications technology). Chief information officers or equivalent executives from both the U.S. Federal Government and Fortune 1000 corporations were asked to rank order these technologies. Unexpectedly, this research found no statistically significant difference between these sectors' rankings, contrary to extant literature. An exploration of these findings and opportunities for future study conclude this paper.
