The present article reviews recent important research in the field of neurocritical care. A selection of several studies published in the past 2 years is summarized, including topics such as invasive intracranial pressure monitoring and different treatment aspects for severe traumatic brain injury, prognosis estimation after cardiac arrest, glucose control in neurological critical care patients and treatment of intracerebral, intraventricular and subarachnoid haemorrhage.
