摘要
The cascaded H-bridge converter (CHB) is a well-known solution for multiple applications, such as motor drives or flexible ac transmission systems, among others. This paper is focused on a CHB composed by a large number of cells (more than three) operated in general with unequal dc voltages. Under this circumstance, the output voltage spectrum presents high harmonic distortion at twice the carrier frequency and its multiples. In order to analyze this phenomenon, a harmonic distortion analysis of the CHB output voltage is presented. From this mathematical analysis, a modification of the phase-shifted PWM modulation is proposed in order to obtain a better harmonic performance.
