摘要
Malaria is both a consequence and a cause of poverty and inequality.1 A malaria-free world, in addition to preventing disease and deaths, would stimulate development and economic growth, improving the lives of hundreds of millions of people. Although the global malaria burden has decreased substantially during the past 20 years, progress has stalled since 2014; in 2020, 29 countries accounted for 96% of malaria cases globally, and 6 African countries accounted for approximately 55% of all cases globally.2 Currently available interventions for malaria control are unlikely to achieve the vision of a malaria-free world.
