摘要
The proposal consists of making some changes in engineering education. The innovation consists of insisting on the importance of orienting the student in the field of engineering and research. Method consists on achieving that the student discover by himself the engineer world and its surroundings, supported by his teacher that knows more about the subject, with the intention that his potential be moderated and oriented by an expert, which will be his guide When we speak about engineering, the problems of the world are present. It is necessary to foment the research culture in the universities to get directly to engineering students. This culture will be reflected in future projects that they will do, benefiting society in general. The idea is to innovate the way to give courses in engineering, motivating the student to contribute with new ideas in the engineering problems solution, of the region, of the country and the entire world. I consider that new and fresh ideas are necessary for solving problems, but given the inexperience of the student, it is of extreme importance the direction of the professor, who will guide him to find the best solution. At the present time there are many universities that want to have more titleholders, by forms that do not contribute to the knowledge generation, and theses (generation of knowledge) are disappearing. This methodology has been applied in the course "Engineering Introduction", during 9 years, and it has generated interest in a subject that traditionally had been "boring".
