摘要
In this paper, the met cognitive strategy is applied to promote the autonomous ability in English Web-based environment. The aim of the English Web-based environment is to promote the autonomous ability for non-English majors in NCEPU. But students in the English Web-based environment could not form self-learning habits in the past academic years. In order to help students manage their English learning process, the author employs an empirical research applying the met cognitive strategy to Web-based English courses. The results show that met cognitive strategy can train the students from the aspect of psychology and promote the ability of self-evaluation and self-monitoring and self-management. Therefore. English Web-based environment accompanied with met cognitive strategy can effectively promote the autonomous ability.
